Setup guide

Get your API keys

NovaScope is bring-your-own-keys. A one-time license does not include hosted Gemini or SerpAPI. Paste keys in Settings; they save to your workspace. We never ask you to email a secret — only open the provider dashboard, copy, and paste here.

Recommended starter: Gemini + Groq + SerpAPI. Then add Yelp and Crawly if you want NAP and backlinks. OpenAI, Claude, Moz, and SpyFu are optional paid extras.

  1. 1. Google Gemini

    Recommended · Free tier available (Google AI Studio)

    Answer Engine Audit, extraction, and report drafting.

    1. Open Google AI Studio and sign in with a Google account.
    2. Accept the Gemini API terms if prompted.
    3. Open API keys and click Create API key (new keys are auth keys).
    4. Copy the key once, then paste it into NovaScope Settings → Google Gemini.
    5. Click Save settings. The key is stored in this workspace only.

  2. 2. Groq

    Recommended · Free tier — no credit card for typical starter use

    Second free answer engine (Llama) for visibility testing.

    1. Create a Groq account at console.groq.com.
    2. Open API Keys.
    3. Create an API key and copy it.
    4. Paste it into NovaScope Settings → Groq, then Save settings.

  3. 3. SerpAPI

    Recommended · Small free monthly credit, then paid — do not expect unlimited

    Google AI Overviews, local pack, GBP completeness, and citation search.

    1. Sign up at serpapi.com.
    2. Open your dashboard and copy the API key.
    3. Paste it into NovaScope Settings → SerpAPI, then Save settings.
    4. One key is shared across AI Overviews, local pack, GBP, and NAP searches.

  4. 4. Yelp Fusion

    Recommended · Yelp Fusion has a free developer app

    Yelp listings in the NAP citation finder.

    1. Create a Yelp Developers account.
    2. Create or open an app under Manage App.
    3. Copy the API Key.
    4. Paste it into NovaScope Settings → Yelp Fusion, then Save settings.

    Recommended · Free daily request allowance (confirm on Crawly’s site)

    Backlink profile data on automated checks.

    1. Sign up at getcrawly.com.
    2. Open the API section and copy your key.
    3. Paste it into NovaScope Settings → Crawly, then Save settings.

  6. 6. PageSpeed Insights

    Optional — scans still run without this key; Google’s API is free

    Higher rate limits for Core Web Vitals during the site scan.

    1. Open the PageSpeed Insights API get-started page.
    2. Create or select a Google Cloud project and enable the PageSpeed Insights API.
    3. Create an API key under Credentials.
    4. Paste it into NovaScope Settings → PageSpeed Insights, then Save settings.

  7. 7. Anthropic Claude

    Paid — pay-per-token, billing required

    Optional Claude engine for Answer Engine Audit and drafting fallback.

    2. Open API keys and create a key.
    3. Copy it and paste into NovaScope Settings → Anthropic Claude, then Save settings.

    Paid — pay-per-token, billing required

    Optional ChatGPT visibility engine.

    1. Sign in to platform.openai.com and add billing.
    2. Open API keys and create a new secret key.
    3. Copy it once and paste into NovaScope Settings → OpenAI, then Save settings.

  9. 9. Moz (Access ID + Secret Key)

    Optional / paid — Moz has a small free row allowance, then paid

    Optional domain authority metrics. Paste both fields.

    2. Copy Access ID and Secret Key.
    3. Paste both into NovaScope Settings (Moz Access ID and Moz Secret Key), then Save settings.

    Optional / paid — SpyFu Pro+ with API credits

    Optional competitive keyword data. Paste both fields.

    2. Open Account → API and copy API ID and Secret Key.
    3. Paste both into NovaScope Settings, then Save settings.

Provider free tiers and dashboards change. This page is a setup checklist, not a billing guarantee. NovaScope does not run API keys for paying customers in this launch.
